February 8, 2010 - Masahiro says: It's that time of year again!!! Yes, our annual car show is coming February 27th, 2010!! It's Imports@UCI's biggest event of the year!!! So bring your rides and friends along to the exciting event!! Like every year, our car show is completely free to everyone (spectators, participants, and vendors). Awards will be handed out to the winning cars in different categories.

If you want to just show your car and not be judged, just show up. Roll in is on a first come, first serve basis. If you want to come as a group, there is a parking lot next to the actual event site, so you can meet there, organize, and then roll in.

September 13, 2009 - Esteban says: I hope everyone has enjoyed their summer! The new academic year is just around the corner, and a lot has changed! This week, John Howard leaves to England for a year to pursue a master's degree in Motor Sports Engineering. Everyone is cheering him on as he continues to develop his career. As you know, over the summer, the new imports officers have been selected, with Andy Bai residing as this year's President! We all anticipate an exciting year as Andy leads us into the club's 7th year of success. With that said, our Welcome Week Festivities will be posted soon. New updates to the site and sponsors will also follow.
August 3, 2009 - This past weekend, our very own John Howard (one of our past presidents) went racing at Auto Club Speedway (formerly California Speedway) in Fontana, CA. Racing in the H4 class, having recently repaired the damage from a bad crash in July, and a blown headgasket, John was able to secure 2nd place on Saturday and took the win on Sunday, qualifying 2nd both days. This is Johns 3rd win with NASA in H4 and he was excited to say the least. The race was a real nail-biter, with John and Terry swapping positions for the lead right up until the last lap!
John received help at the track and the week before from Esteban Wu (another past president), and would like to thank anyone else who has helped at any point throughout this tough season. You can read more about John and his racing at www.johndhoward.com.
July 4, 2009 - Happy 4th of July everyone. Hopefully you all get to see some great fireworks tonight!
June 15, 2009 - Congratulations to anyone graduating this year. Summer time is upon us and unfortunately that means we all have to take a break from our beloved weekly meetings and events. Do not fear however, as our officer board will be working hard to plan a fantastic 2009/2010 school year for the club. We hope to see you all again in the fall.
May 26, 2009 - Tonight is our last general meeting of the quarter. Be sure to stop on by HIB 110 at 8 PM for the quick meeting and exciting afterevent! We'll be doing a stage rally! Following the speedlimit and local traffic laws, the driver who reaches each checkpoint closest to the secret time will win the event. Its sure to be fun!

May 5, 2009 - Happy Cinco de Mayo. This last weekend Imports@UCI had its tech day at wills house in Garden Grove. Those who came out had a good time and learned a thing or two. This weekend the club will be headed out to Streets of Willow in the lovely city of Rosamond for our quarterly track event, this time with SpeedVentures. Be sure to sign up at speedventures.com for the Saturday event, spaces are going fast. We値l be meeting Friday night to caravan up to Lancaster, where we値l stay in a hotel as a group. March 2, 2009 - Tomorrow night Imports@UCI will be having its final meeting of the quarter. The meeting is going to be held at K1 Speed Irvine, an indoor karting facility. We'll have a short meeting and finish the night off with some good ol racing. You can meet on campus around 6:30 if you need a ride, or if you like you can meet us at K1 Speed at 7 PM for the meeting. We'll see you there!
March 2, 2009 - This weekends car show turned out fantastic. There were more cars at this event than any in the past. The pizza was good, drinks held up until the pizza was gone, Red Bull showed up to offer their drinks, and in the end there were 3 winners! A three-rotor RX7 took the top honors, a time attack prepared EG civic took best student, and a Celica took honorable mention. Congrats to the three of them and thanks to everyone who came out. February 27, 2009 - Tomorrow in lot 16H is the Imports@UCI 3rd Annual Car Show! Make sure to stop by for some free food, drinks, music, and some real nice looking cars. Hope to see you there, roll-in starts around 9:30 and the show will continue throughout the day.

February 4, 2009 - This Saturday we'll be heading out to the wonderful Willow Springs in Rosamond, CA for track day with Speedventures. A few of us are tracking our cars, and the rest will go for support and to enjoy the time away from the worries of our busy lives. The caravan will be leaving Friday night around 6:30 PM from Irvine, will fight through traffic on the way to the track, and end up at the Inn of Lancaster. The Inn of Lancaster has nice beds, a hearty complimentary breakfast, and ample parking. January 27, 2009 - Tech day at Will's this past Saturday turned out to be a success, as we reinstalled one members stock exhaust header. We took a look at some other members cars to identify strange noises and various problems. I hear that some people learned something new, and someone else even mentioned the word "fun" throughout the day. How about that!
January 21, 2009 ・This weekend we値l be heading over to the home of our president, Will Stevens. Just as our country痴 president took his oath this week, Will took an oath to serve Imports@UCI and as such he will allow us to have TECH DAY at his place. Bring your car, any parts you want installed, and any tools if you have them. We値l help with the labor and the know-how.

On another note, our very own John Howard achieved his first victory this past weekend in Honda Challenge. After coming back from a crash last month on Saturday, he did an on track repair and earned 2nd place the next day. Since then he got the damage fixed and made it out to the November races ready to rumble. Rumble he did as he held off 4 cars to earn first place this past Saturday. Congratulations John!

January 27, 2009 - Tech day at Will's this past Saturday turned out to be a success, as we reinstalled one members stock exhaust header. We took a look at some other members cars to identify strange noises and various problems. I hear that some people learned something new, and someone else even mentioned the word "fun" throughout the day. How about that!
January 21, 2009 ・This weekend we値l be heading over to the home of our president, Will Stevens. Just as our country痴 president took his oath this week, Will took an oath to serve Imports@UCI and as such he will allow us to have TECH DAY at his place. Bring your car, any parts you want installed, and any tools if you have them. We値l help with the labor and the know-how.

November 12, 2008 ・We値l be heading out to Long Beach this weekend for the Red Bull Drifting World Championships. We have college VIP passes so we値l have access to free drinks and a special seating area on Saturday only. If you want to go Sunday as well talk to us and we値l figure out who wants to go for an additional day of excitement!

On another note, our very own John Howard achieved his first victory this past weekend in Honda Challenge. After coming back from a crash last month on Saturday, he did an on track repair and earned 2nd place the next day. Since then he got the damage fixed and made it out to the November races ready to rumble. Rumble he did as he held off 4 cars to earn first place this past Saturday. Congratulations John!
